Streetlight Community

Building trust, connection and hope — one conversation at a time
Streetlight Community is a youth outreach initiative that meets young people where they are — in skate parks, shopping centres and community spaces across Adelaide. Our volunteers from local churches build genuine relationships, offer support, and help young people discover their potential.
Each week, our teams show up in the same places at the same times, creating safe and consistent spaces where trust can grow. Through simple, engaging activities such as henna, spray-on tattoos, nail painting and water pong, we start conversations that open doors to connection and belonging.
Streetlight is built on the belief that every young person has unique value and purpose. By walking alongside them through life’s challenges, we aim to draw out the potential that already exists within each of them.
Our outreach has expanded to include a range of initiatives designed to empower young people in practical and meaningful ways:
- Drive Forward – helping young people gain their driver’s licence through supervised mentoring support.
- Street Strength – journeying with young people through hands-on, nature-based adventure learning that supports physical, mental, social and emotional wellbeing, while strengthening community connections.
